Walkers are Welcome

Lynton & Lynmouth Walks

Our Mission

To increase awareness of Lynton & Lynmouth and popularise it as a top Exmoor destination for walking, and the health and well-being of everyone.

  • Welcome everyone to walk and explore Lynton & Lynmouth
  • Maintain and promote our membership of the Walkers are Welcome initiative.
  • Work alongside Visit Lynton & Lynmouth to help improve the overall economy of the Lyn Valley, by encouraging more visitors, for the day or to stay.
  • Work with other local programs to encourage an active lifestyle and well-being
How we will do this

We will do this by continuously promoting our incredible natural assets and landscape, unique location and the potential for a memorable Exmoor experience.

Use and promote the Walkers are Welcome initiative to gain exposure, and ensure we use #walkersarewelcome in our social media posts.

Connect and interlink everywhere – our visitors need a positive journey through all of our content, it cannot end abruptly – they need fulfilment.

Walking groups and well-being

Walking has been described as the perfect exercise for healthy bodies, healthy minds and meeting people.

Social prescribing is a way for local agencies to refer people to a link worker. Link workers give people time, focusing on ‘what matters to me’ and taking a holistic approach to people’s health and wellbeing.
