The sport of cricket dates back many hundreds of years and is thought to have begun in the late 16th century. It is said to have originated in England’s South East territories. It soon became England’s national sport and is still as popular today.
We love a game of family cricket or tennis on one of North Devon’s fantastic world class beaches. However, for the avid fans of the game there are several places around North Devon where you can enjoy watching a classic cricket game or tennis match.
For golf lovers North Devon has a great variety for the golfer to play. Royal North Devon, Saunton Sands, Portmore, Minehead & West Somerset, Libbaton, Ilfracombe, Great Torrington and Hartland Forest.
Lynmouth has two putting greens which are fantastic for some family fun. All equipment is available from the hut throughout the season with a championship tournament held annually.
