Hillside House is a beautiful building dating from the 1790s, though parts of it are much older. According to local tradition it was once a dairy, and the oldest part may date from as early as the 1400s. It is listed (Grade II) as a building of historical interest. The building has been used as a bed and breakfast since the 1940s.
Double, twin or single rooms are available. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Packed lunches and picnic baskets are available on request and we can arrange kit transfer service for walkers. We are a non-smoking establishment.
We offer a four-course breakfast in our dining-room where a large selection of books and magazines (many of them about Exmoor) are available for our guests to peruse. Outside we have a terrace where guests may wish to relax, surrounded by plants, and enjoy the sights and sound of the river.
Situated on the East Lyn river at Lynmouth, our guest house is ideally suited both to the needs of walkers or those of a less strenuous disposition.
